Mat Chat - December 2014
Welcome to the last Mat Chat for 2014. It's been a successful year for both the Dojang, and more importantly for our Students. Yesterday was another example with 16 people grading to the next level after months of training.
There is a lot of information to cover, so please feel free to scroll down (or click if it works) the link to the relevant information for your training.
As always we would like to thank you for your support. We really appreciate your efforts, time and compassion.

Christmas Party - Saturday 13th December
Kicking off from 10:00am we'll have a jumping castle, cupcakes, BBQ, games and much more and we'd love to see everyone who can possibly attend. Last year we had about 50 people attend and it was a fun event.
Come along and have a chat, grab a bite and hang-out with everyone and celebrate the year.
I would personally love to get a moment to see you all off the mats getting to know eachother a little better.
Tiger Grading 8:30-9:30am
We're asking for every Tiny (3-4yrs) & Little (4-7yrs) Tiger that is available to attend.
Some parents have commented that they didn't feel that their Tigers were ready, I just wanted to put this comment out that the Tiny & Little Tiger Gradings are a chance for them to demonstrate what they have learned over the year in front of family and friends and all will be rewarded for their efforts.
Time for them to shine.
2015 will see lots of Seminars, some additional opportunities to train with different instructors and travel.
Thursday 11th December we will have a special guest in the Dojang - 2nd Dan Instructor and Chief of "Strive Hapkido" in Melbourne, Brendon Markos. You're all invited to come and train with him.
The class will run from 7:00-9:00pm that night. Come along and meet Brendon and share your experiences.
Women's Self Defence 2015
The Women's Self Defence Beginners Courses have been extremely busy this year, and next year we will be adding more Beginners, Intermediate and, later in the year, Advanced courses.
We're holding our first Intermediate Course on Saturday 17th January and the course can be registered for here - Women's Self Defence.
I'm working on the 2015 Seminar Schedule and there will be lots of opportunities - watch this space.
Tigers, Holidays & Term 1 2015
Tiger Summer Classes
We're running the Summer Little Tiger program through January, 3 Little Tigers (4-7yrs) per week for 4 weeks. Click this button to Register.
Don't worry - the Big Tiger/Family classes run pretty much non-stop through the Holidays.
Term 1 2015
Registration Emails will go out to existing Parents this week for Term 1 2015.
Sadly, we will not be continuing the Tiny Tiger (3-4yrs) classes next year. HOWEVER we will be opening up the Little Tiger classes to kids 3.5yrs+ who have older siblings. Other Kids 3.5-4yrs will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
We understand how important the Tiny Tiger program has been over the past 2 years as so many Little Tigers have come through the program. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Congratulations & Christmas Closure Dates
Congratulations to the 16 people who graded yesterday at the Dojang.
I was personally impressed with the level displayed on the day.
For those who forgot a few techniques here or there - never fear, come and chat with one of the black belts on tricks and tips on how to remember them. You'll be happy in the long run.
Everyone should be proud of their hard work this year. The Dojang has grown built on your hard work, your spirit and everyone's collective commitment to learning.
Christmas Closure Dates
Christmas and New Years fall in the middle of the each week this year, so we'll only be closed for 1 weekend - total of 13days.
With the exception of the Summer Tiger program, we run all other classes throughout the summer. Women's, Adults, Kumdo, Big Tiger/Teen/Family and Seminars as booked. Keep up the good work everyone.
The Dojang Closes from Sunday 21st December and re-opens on Saturday 3rd January 2015.
Our Appreciation for your Support
My family and I would personally like to thank each and every Student and Parent who either trains, or brings their family each week to the Dojang. Every year I still am happily shocked and surprised at how supportive you all have been.
The last 15 months have been the hardest of my life. Last year at this time I was seriously considering giving it away, but it was with your support and your faith in the community we have all developed that I remained strong to our common goal.
With everyone going to see their families over the Christmas Period, if I don't see you at the Christmas Party (Which I would love to!!) the Instrustors, My Family and your fellow students wish you all safe travels.
Thank you again for everything!!!
